Simone Rocha Fall/Winter 2016

Simone Rocha recently gave birth to her first baby and said she’s been thinking about mothering, Victorian matrons and tactility, and wanted to put an emphasis on “feminine things” while preparing this collection. There were delicate transparent gowns, sometimes embellished with crystals, sometimes dyed in blood red, worn over with voluminous tweed coats. The colour palette was delicate and feminine with beiges, blacks and different tones o pink from baby pink to bubble-gum pink. Although the silhouettes were oversize, the edges of the tweeds were raw; with the furs, floral embellishments, silks and smooth movements of the clothing, the collection was feminine and romantic. It was like glamorous Victorian wraiths were floating on the runway.
