Chloé Fall/Winter 2016
70s Moto Women
Chloé’s creative director Clare Waight Keller’s inspiration for the new collection was Anne-France Dautheville, a French journalist who traveled three continents on a motorbike in the 70s. She used to ride sometimes in big dresses, so there were big dresses with ruffles on the runway. There were also a lot of motocross leathers, huge ponchos, oversize sweaters, capes and multi-colored ethnic pieces all reflecting Dautheville’s bike trips to exotic, Eastern destinations. The collection had a duality with the biker leathers on one side and delicate chiffon dresses on the other and that created a powerful collection fit for the free women of today!
