Drake to Curate Soundtracks with Sotheby’s
For the “Black Americans” exhibition
The hip hop and art world are getting ready for an unexpected collaboration. Drake will be teaming up with Sotheby’s at an exhibition of contemporary works titled “Black Americans”. The artist will curate the soundtrack to the upcoming sale composed of works by black American artists. The sale will include around 20 works from names like Rashid Johnson, Nick Cave, Glenn Ligon, Kara Walker and Jean-Michel Basquiat. The exhibition fusing art and music will have an accompanying song for every piece that the visitors can listen through Dr. Dre headphones. Be sure to visit the auction house from April 28 to June 12 to see if Drake has succeeded in stepping a new zone.
