Two New Yves Saint Laurent Museums To Open
In Paris and Marrakech
Two new museums dedicated to the life and work of the French-Algerian designer Yves Saint Laurent is set to open by autumn 2017 in Paris and Marrakech. The announcement was made by the Foundation Pierre Bergé that currently houses five thousand haute couture garments, 15 thousand accessories and thousands of printed ephemera. The Parisian museum will open at the designer’s former couture house on 5 Avenue Marceau. The stage designer Nathalie Criniere and interior designer Jacques Granges will restore the place back to the style of the original couture house. On the other hand, the museum to open in Marrakech, which was a country of continuous inspiration for the designer, will open on Rue Yves Saint Laurent, close to the renowned Jardin Majorelle owned by Bergé and Saint Laurent himself.
