Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda Collection
An Operatic Collection at La Scala in Milan
Dolce & Gabbana have showed their couture collection at La Scala in Milan. They found their inspiration in the Puccini operas; Tosca, Turandot, and Madame Butterfly, and also the work of the Milanese dressmaker Biki who made the fine dresses that aristocratic women wore to the opera, as well as their day suits. The collection included pieces inspired by the clothes of both the opera artists and the audience, as there were huge theatrical dresses as well as suit sets. The collection was glamorous with the use of fine materials like lace and fur and its rich details and all the pieces were excellently made to fit the glory of couture. The audience gave a standing ovulation to Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana at the end of the show and brought them back to the runway three times. It was a celebration of a well-deserved success of decades.
