A Fashionable Mind: Photographs by Jonathan Becker
A life lived behind the lens
Jonathan Becker has started his career as the apprentice of Brassaï in Paris in the 1970s, snapping party photographs for Womenswear Daily’s party bureau at the age of 20. Later on, in New York, he worked as portrait photographer for Andy Warhol’s Interview Magazine and spent a good 30-year with Vanity Fair, capturing the most iconic figures of the time from Valentino and Diana Vreeland to Bianca Jagger. Now, his iconic photography is on display with the new retrospective exhibition at SCAD FASH, Atlanta. The exhibition contains large-scale prints of the famous photographs from Becker’s extensive archive and can be visited until April 1.
