LOVE FOOD: HEALING WITH AYLIN

LOVEFOOD

We need to be healthy in order to be happy, but it’s not all about nutrition. Our lifestyle has an enormous effect on our nutrition and diet. The way we eat and how and when we eat effects the quality of our lives.

Love food does not come on a plate. It is as important to us as eating to survive, only we wouldn’t have survived if we did not love.

Love food is the other source of nourishment we get from elements like having a spiritual practice, an inspiring career, enjoying physical activity and having joyful relationships where we can be open and honest. A kind of life where your soul is nourished and satisfied. Imagine a time when you were madly in love. The excitement would make you forget about food. Food becomes secondary when we have enough “love food” in our lives.   We eat out of boredom, loneliness, and lack of self esteem. When we feel hungry after eating a meal, we might as well hug someone or any act of kindness would actually fill us right away. Like everything else that needs balance in our lives, the balancing of giving and receiving could always benefit from some tuning. The more sharing and love in our lives, the less we depend on foods.   This is why spiritual traditions encourage fasting. When we fast, we become more perceptive to everything around us. We start seeing the vivid colors around us, we appreciate the trees purifying the air we breathe, we are more connected to our soul. We witness the beauties in our lives. We are simply grateful.   You have a chance to establish a new set of priorities and rules and intentions for yourself as well as to create some new healthy habits that should include raising the quality of your life.       Tips for keeping LOVE/FOOD balance. 1. Appreciate what you have. Waking up each morning and setting a goal can completely change your day. Give thanks and create more blessings. 2. Meditate. Even if you think you can’t, try concentrating on your breathing for ten minutes. It seems subtle but your body will thank you. When I first started meditating, I would just focus on my breath coming in and out, practice takes it to a whole new level. 3. Have a journal. Start writing and documenting the things in your life that you want to get rid of or  want more of, what you appreciated, and/or what affect you might have had on others during your day. 4. Eat more vegetables. There are millions of types of different diet books out there, they usually lead to confusion. You can’t go wrong with vegetables.

5. You can only do what you want when you believe in yourself . Your daily question to yourself should be, ‘Am I ready for anything?’ Your daily mantra, ‘I am ready for anything!' Be your authentic self!
