PRADA AUTUMN/WINTER 2015 MENSWEAR
“This first part of the Autumn Winter 2015 fashion show continues Prada’s analysis of the relationship between men and women.”
Yesterday, Miuccia chose to present the latest menswear (and womenswear) collections with a manifesto. Focusing on the idea of gender and freedom of interpretation, the show took place in a cluttered, futuristic runway with low ceiling rooms and metal gate corridors. The show itself was a match of sartorial staples from both menswear and womenswear – a topic fascinating Prada through all her career. Miuccia also claimed that blending collections for men and women had been something she had been waiting to do for a while. But the result was simple, uniform and elegant – and of course a triumphant success. The brand experimented with simple and tailored looks for both sexes as men’s looks resembled uniforms with buttoned collar shirts while women’s focused on little black dresses with bow embellishments. We can’t help but desire that Miuccia’s fascination with gender continues in the upcoming seasons.
