Chanel Cruise ‘16 Show in Seoul

Totally Korean

Yesterday marked a fashion showoff with Chanel cruise show taking place at the same time with the Met Gala. Karl invited all the fashionistas to Seoul, Korea – as far as it gets from the Met. The show took place at the Dongdaemum Design Plaza, a futuristic spot that was transformed into a rainbow-like setting. The catwalk had polka dots reminding Twister and bright colored stools for the viewers which included Gisele Bundchen, Tilda Swinton, Carine Roitfeld and Kristen Stewart. The collection featured bold patterns and bright touches all in line with the Korean influences of the show. The major motif was patchwork which is created with a technique only found in Korea and all the other silhouette dresses were also Karl’s interpretation of the tradition. However, the most striking details of the show were definitely in the beauty field. The models walked down with black outlined brows and major bottom lashes. The hairstyles were inspired by the typical ones of the Korean noble families with black wigs together with elaborated braids forming side buns. Last night, we took a long and tiring trip to Seoul and we couldn’t be happier we did.
