“Cowboy Mouth: Young Artists at the Chelsea”

Celebrating creative minds at the iconic Chelsea Hotel

patti 2

The Chelsea Hotel has been a landmark in art history with its status as a hub for creative minds. Leonard Cohen has written a song about it, Jack Kerouac wrote On The Road in one of the rooms and Patti Smith has spent a substantial amount of time there. With a new exhibition titled “Cowboy Mouth: Young Artists at the Chelsea”, the hotel is revisiting its past to inspire the upcoming generation of creative minds. The exhibition is based on the play called “Cowboy Mouth” which was penned in 1971 by Patti Smith and Sam Shepard that focuses on the creative struggles of two young artists in the seventies. If you haven’t made it in the tradition of artistic collaboration of the Chelsea Hotel in the 70’s, now might be your chance.
