Gerhard Richter’s Colour Charts Are Coming Back

Abstract experiments from the 60s

In the 60s, the artist Gerard Richter who back then made only black and white paintings, got inspired by the paint colour samples he came across in a hardware store in Dusseldorf and later he turned them into art works. Celebrating the 50th anniversary of his works, Dominique Lévy gallery in London is holding an exhibition that brings together a selection of Gerhard Richter's original 19 Colour Charts. These paintings that are important for abstract art and pop art, haven’t been seen together since the last 50 years.

Gerhard Richter: Colour Charts, from October 13, 2015 to January 16, 2016, at Dominique Lévy Gallery, 22 Old Bond Street, London
