The founder and executive chairman of Net-a-Porter Natalie Massenet, founder and executive chairman of online fashion group Net-A-Porter has abruptly resigned, leaving the high-end fashion site ahead of its pending merger with Italian e-commerce group Yoox Spa. Net-a-Porter founder Natalie Massenet said she plans to explore “new ideas and opportunities” after resigning from the online fashion retailer she founded 15 years ago. This decision comes on the heels of a merger with Italian e-commerce group Yoox, and—after her resignation—it’s being reported that the 50-year-old stands to walk away with about $153 million after selling shares in the company. According to Reuters, there is no indication that her departure will derail the Yoox merger, which received antitrust clearance on Wednesday.
