Miu Miu S/S 2016 PFW
Beautiful end to fashion week month
Closing out Paris Fashion Week, Miuccia Prada presented the Miu Miu Spring-summer 2016 collection. The last show of the season, at the Palais d'Iéna, gold and silver metallic fabrics covered the 20-foot-high walls at the Miu Miu Miu show this afternoon, alternating silver and gold so that the tone literally changed as models walked. The first two opening looks were pure rocker - two mannish, graphic, double breasted coats, with wide-cut lapels in black and white and purple, worn with narrow tailored trousers, polo shirts, set off by riotous, glam-rock style platform boots - one of the statement shoes for the season ahead. Finishing her look, the Miu Miu woman wears platform style boots with chunky heels and ballet flats wrapped up with frayed edges and utilitarian style buckles. A glittering headband paired with low hanging pigtails gives an unexpected touch of youth to the look. The 39-piece collection was also a showcase of Miu miu's precise tailoring on some of the best coats of the season. They had contrasting patterns — check, plaid or big ethnic lozenge motifs down shiny boxy leather jackets. The skirts played with transparency and were set off nicely by the silver-and-gold foil-wrapped auditorium.
