Karl Lagerfeld is embracing e-commerce by teaming up with the art website artnet.com. Karl.com will include the designer's entire accessories collection, eyewear and novelty items. Menswear and childrenswear will launch from spring 2016. Website will present editorial features, including witty remarks by the designer known as “Karlisms” and his favorite addresses in Paris, are to remain following a redesign.

Exclusive to his site, Lagerfeld has created three one-off bags featuring his own  sketches, and the accessories will be auctioned off online on November 2.

“We’re going global, in 97 countries, with five languages, including Japanese,” said Pier Paolo Righi, chief executive officer of Karl Lagerfeld Group BV. It's hoped the exciting online move will boost revenue, with Righi adding that online sales already represent “a significant part of the business”.
