Rose Blake: Now I'm an Artist
Illustrations as Fine Art
Rose Blake is an illustrator and artist, who lives in London and works as a freelance for publications including The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Telegraph, The Sunday Times, The BBC and Tatler, to name a few. While it is highly debated whether illustration counts as a fine art form or not, she opened her first solo exhibition, ironically titled “Now I'm an Artist” in Rebecca Hossack Gallery. Her works are liked by many due to their friendly, emotive, fun approach with a lot of pop culture references. For this exhibition, she chose museum-scape as her subject and made paintings of busy gallery scenes, mostly completed in 2015.
Rose Blake: Now I'm an Artist runs at Rebecca Hossack Gallery, London until October 31.
