From 1947 to Today
A new Dior book published by Thames & Hudson will hit the shelves on October 19. The book titled “New Looks” prepared by the journalist and a specialist in fashion photography, Jérôme Gautier, contains iconic images of the French maison and its fashion. It begins in 1947 when the iconic collection of Christian Dior, the New Look was launched and the Richard Avedon started to shoot the designs of Dior and continues to date. Featuring the works of some of the best photographers of the last 50 years, like Helmut Newton, Cecil Beaton, Gilles Bensimon, Patrick Demarchelier, Nick Knight, Annie Leibovitz, Irving Penn, Terry Richardson and Mario Testino, this book is a celebration of the fashion of Dior created by an amazing group of designers; Christian Dior himself, Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano and finally Raf Simons.
