The No Longer / Not Yet Exhibition In Shanghai
Allessandro Michele And Gucci Presents
Gucci and its creative director Alessandro Michele are headed to Shanghai to open an exhibition at the Minsheng Art Museum. Michele has teamed up with stylist and LOVE editor in chief Katie Grand to curate ‘No Longer/ Not Yet,’ an exhibition in which artists around the globe contemplate the concept of contemporary/untimely. The exhibition organized by Alessandro Michele and Katie Grand is focus on the meaning of contemporary. The showcase is made up of a series of rooms featuring works by participating artists such as Chinese multimedia artist Cao Fei, American sculptor Rachel Feinstein, American Neo-conceptual artist Jenny Holzer, British photographer Glen Luchford, sound designers Steve Mackey and John Gosling (who have soundtracked each installation), British photographer Nigel Shafran, Chinese Op artist Li Shurui and British illustrator and artist Unskilled Worker. Grand, who attended the opening with the designer said, “the first time I saw Alessandro’s collection in the store, I asked, ‘Is this the men’s or the women’s [section]?’ and the sales assistant said, ‘It’s either, whatever you want it to be.’ I thought it was a really interesting way to merchandise clothes. I think it’s a very modern way of thinking and dressing. ’ No Longer/Not Yet is the new Gucci’s exhibition that opened last Saturday October 17 in Minsheng Art Museum of Shanghai and will be open until 16 December.
