A Celebration of the History of Louis Vuitton
Louis Vuitton is getting ready to celebrate the maison’s journey from 1854 and onwards with the new exhibition, “Volez, Voguez, Voyagez – Louis Vuitton” at the Grand Palais in Paris. The exhibition, curated by Olivier Saillard, will retrace the fashion house’s rich history through depictions of its founding members and the recent creators. The place of the exhibition is especially selected, because the Grand Palais was constructed in 1900 during a very successful Universal Exhibition, which welcomed 48 million visitors to Paris, and Louis Vuitton’s merry-go-round shaped booth was the center of attention. On the exhibition, the CEO of Louis Vuitton, Michael Burke says; "Louis Vuitton has always been at the avant-garde of creation. More than a century after, if Louis Vuitton remains at the helm of fashion, it's because we continuously inspire ourselves from the past while anticipating trends of our times. For this exhibition, Olivier Saillard has immersed himself in the archives of our maison to decode its secrets. He delivers a fresh vision of our past, present and future."
The exhibition will run from 4 December 2015, until 21 February 2016.
