Edun Pre-Fall 2016
Inspired by Akarova
Danielle Sherman’s inspiration for Edun’s Pre-fall 2016 collection was Akarova, the Belgian dancer, choreograph and artist who was famous for her self-made sets and costumes, in bold geometric and wave pattern, during the early 20th century. The designer interpreted the references like the colors and prints from Akarova’s costumes, in a modern collection. The collection also has references from classic American workwear and the 60s with cropped flare pants with big front pockets, zipped coats, loose dresses with spaghetti straps and turtleneck knits. The flat sporty slippers and thick-heeled mules as the footwear completing the outfits are very contemporary.
