The Year Of Alessandro Michele’s Gucci
From Unknown to History Maker
Alessandro Michele was working for Gucci since 2002, but none of us have heard about him until January this year, when he got appointed as the new creative director of Gucci, just after the departure of Frida Giannini. This was the best decision, the Italian fashion house has ever made! From then on, Michele created a different Gucci, full of femininity and delicate details, florals, excessively used accessories, statement shoes and bags that women went crazy for and he managed to establish a completely different brand identity only within exactly 12 months and two seasons. There is not a single fashion magazine that doesn’t write about the new femininity of Michele or publish photos of celebs wearing his designs. From his campaigns with unknown models in New York subway, to his campaign films, he reinvented the Gucci women as playful, vintage inspired and down to earth. The year ended also ended in the best way for Michele, with a British Fashion Award in his hands. 2016, watch out! Alessandro Michele is coming for you.
