Chanel SS16 Eyewear Collection
Tweed-Inspired
Chanel has unveiled its Spring-Summer 2016 eyewear collection, and the French fashion house has decreed tweed the look for next season. The collection comprises three new sub-collections -- Vintage Tweed, Denim Tweed and Lacquered Tweed. There's the Denim Tweed collection which features several different styles of acetate frames. The frames are made to resemble woven tweed with bits of the multicolored quilted denim fused with a few grams of rubber for the temple pieces. The Vintage Tweed collection of retro-inspired square, cat-eye and oval acetate frames features a tweed weave adornment and steel gray, silvery or golden metal details.
The final series, Lacquered Tweed, is, in part, inspired by the enamel buttons used on the Chanel jackets. Earlier this month, Chanel made its eyewear collection available online in the US, as the brand continues to move into e-commerce. The new Spring / Summer range will be available from Chanel boutiques from January 2016.
